Colorooh was a puzzle game running on iOS and released in 2012.

Colorooh marked the third game release from digiDingo, the company I worked with as a Game Designer and all-round artist from 2011 to 2014 (see here for more info). It was a puzzle game that debuted on October 18, 2012, on the App Store, sandwiched between Athleticooh's release in July and Christmas Grooh's in December.
In line with my role in other digiDingo projects, I was responsible for the visuals, animations, sound effects, the soundtrack, as well as crafting the trailer, and developing the design for the official website. I also provided game design advice as the project evolved. I used Adobe Flash (now Adobe Animate) for creating the Coloroohs and backgrounds, the Graphical User Interface (GUI) and the different screens, sometimes adding a subtle texture with Adobe Photoshop, especially in the different backgrounds. Just like in Grooh, I provided the voices for the Colorooh characters: high-pitched and funny.
Fun fact: I incorporated several sound effects from Bubble Islands into Colorooh :-P
Colorooh featured four distinct game modes:
MATCH-3
The objective was to find at least two adjacent Coloroohs of the same color on the screen.
SHIFT
Players had to position all Coloroohs correctly by shifting columns and rows.
PUZZLE
The challenge involved coloring all the Coloroohs with the right colors, following specific rules.
MEMORY
Players had to memorize the colors of the Coloroohs and then accurately color them.
As with many digiDingo games, I listened to a great amount of audio tracks on the excellent website NEO Sounds; it provides royalty free music downloads, premium production music library, and royalty free sound effects, and is always a great source of inspiration for me. I was particularly drawn to a few tunes from Alex Khaskin, which were both cheerful and quirky, making them a perfect fit for games like Grooh and Colorooh. In total, I purchased four tracks at a reasonable price of $61.80, composed by Alex Khaskin and Erik Haddad.

Alex Khaskin (born 1961) is a Russian-Canadian composer. His specialties include film and TV music scoring, providing music library, and serving as a music consultant. He uses a wide range of expression of the strings which are the most popular group in symphonic orchestra, as well as other instruments. In 2015, he composed the score for the film A Christmas Horror Story, where he crafted eerie adaptations of traditional Christmas carols.
Working in numerous genres, Erik Haddad has written over 2,000 pieces of music for publishers in Los Angeles, New York, South Africa, and other parts of the world. Working in a host of different genres, he is equally at home creating quirky melodies, atmospheric underscores, or intense rhythm-driven tracks. Much of Erik's success lies in his "less is more" approach, where emotional impact is achieved through subtle, tasteful musical arrangements that don't interfere with dialogue.
