And here we are; the Gameplay!! I'll try to explain how "Bubble Islands" works. |
The main goal in "Bubble Islands" is simple: you have to connect at least 4 bubbles of the same color; that way, they will disappear from the playing field. Let's call it the "Bubble Connection". |
Here's an example; it also explains how to play. |
Here's the situation: in "Bubble Islands", you are controlling directly your character (in the following example, you are controlling Yotta, the samurai-octopus): |
Picture 1) Using the directional keys, you can move Yotta to the left or to the right. You cannot move vertically, only horizontally. As you can see, he's holding a pair of violet bubbles. Remember: your goal is to connect at least 4 bubbles of the same color. .. |
Picture 2) You notice that there are 2 violet bubbles in the playing field below; that's why you take the decision to move to the right, and put Yotta above those. |
Picture 3) Ok, Now it's time to drop your bubbles!! Press "Action" to drop them. |
Picture 4) Bubble Connection!! There's a nice flash effect, woohoo. |
Picture 5 & 6) The 4 violet bubbles disappear from the playing field, and give you points. Yotta gets 2 new bubbles (2 yellow bubbles in the picture) that you'll have to drop too... and so on... |
Now, here's a new but essential trick: "Bubble Switch"!! |
In the previous example, Yotta was holding 2 violet bubbles, so 2 similar colors. You have to know that most of the time, you'll hold 2 different colors (for example, a violet and a yellow bubble). |
In this situation, you are holding the following colors: violet + yellow. Quickly, you notice that if you want to connect all the bubbles, you'll have to switch your bubbles. So, instead of having violet + yellow, you can turn them into yellow + violet. Here's how to do it: |
Picture 1) Drop your bubbles like you always do (by pressing the "Action" key). |
Picture 2) Press again the "Action" key to switch the bubbles. Be careful though, you have to switch them before they land on the floor!! |
Picture 3) Excellent, thanks to the Bubble Switch trick, you were able to perform a Bubble Connection!! There's a nice flash effect again, woohoo. |
Annnnnnd, another trick: "Bubble Slide"!! |
This trick doesn't require your interaction, because it's automatic. Here's a quick example: |
As you can see, your bubbles will slide automatically on the side when a row is full. Of course the second row needs to be free enough to get 2 new bubbles, or else you'll not be able to drop them!! |
