In early 2013, Jann Sigrist from digiDingo - where I worked as a Game Designer and all-around artist from 2011 to 2014 (for more details, click here) - asked me to design funny and cute buffalos (also known as American bisons) for a potential puzzle game. He was thrilled with the results, and just a few months later, on November 27, 2013, Buffalooh was officially released on iOS!
Buffalooh holds a special place in digiDingo's history, as it was the sixth and final game released by the studio with my involvement. While digiDingo later released one last game, Elarooh, it was created and designed by a different team.
For Buffalooh, I was responsible for art direction, animations, UI/UX design, trailer production, and the official website's design - a role I consistently held across all digiDingo projects. Every illustration, design, and animation was meticulously crafted in Adobe Flash (now Adobe Animate), while Adobe Photoshop was used for texturing and shading, giving the game its signature vibrant and playful aesthetic.
Fun fact: The visual style of Buffalooh was heavily inspired by Pudding Monsters, a charming puzzle game released on iOS and Android in 2012 by ZeptoLab.
Buffalooh featured four game modes, mirroring the structure of Colorooh:
TROPHY
Snag as many gold medals as possible, and the last Buffalooh on the field is your reward!
COIN
Test your multitasking skills by removing Buffaloohs AND collecting as many coins as possible – all at once!
HAPPY 3
Endeavor to ground the last 3 Buffaloohs on a star field!
SURVIVAL
Compete against the clock to solve as many levels as fast as humanly possible!
"Hilarious puzzle gameplay, bump those Buffalooh to win!"
"Buffalooh is a good game with a cute cartoon art style, numerous levels, and rich gameplay."
"Buffalooh is definitely worth your leisure time!"
