"Be Famous is all about fame, glamour and richness. Things probably all of us are dreaming of. With this game, people can finally get rich and famous: the goal of the game lies in the nature of mankind. We all want to go for the number one, but usually we can't do it by ourselves alone. Working together will let you gain fame and richness much faster than playing it alone. People will compete with their scores, objects, famous contacts and items but also solve quests with the help of each other. And of course there will be a lot of partying... who doesn't like to party?"
Back in 2013, I was working for digiDingo (you can find more details in my dedicated article here). Jann Sigrist, the head of digiDingo, tasked me with creating a document and several pieces of concept art for a project called Be Famous (City Ville). The goal was to attract investors and/or publishers who could provide robust marketing support and were interested in establishing a long-term partnership with digiDingo.
The document also included an article detailing digiDingo's strategy for monetizing social mobile games, its overarching strategic vision, and the potential impact of increasing revenue. As a bonus, it featured an article about Grooh!! 2, a proposed sequel to one of digiDingo's most successful titles.
I was responsible for creating the concept art, characters, buildings, and user interface, all using Adobe Flash (now Flash Animate). Every element was designed entirely in vector format to ensure scalability and precision. For the character designs, I drew inspiration from FaceYourManga, one of the largest avatar creation communities at the time, known for its distinctive and stylish illustrations. This influence helped shape the unique look and feel of the characters, adding a playful and approachable vibe to the project.
